GIRLS STANDINGS
The
following links will show the SCVA's current standings in
the various age groups. An explanation of the point
scale is below under the description of Mandatory tournaments.
Please, note that all results must be collected and tabulated
from each Mandatory tournament before the points and standings
can be updated. For results from each tournamnet,
scroll down to the Results section.
Please note, that there
are no current standings until the completion of the first
Mandatory.
Qualifying Tournaments
The Qualifying Tournaments determine the starting
spots for teams in each age group. Any non-participating
team that wishes to enter future mandatory tournaments will
be placed in an apporpriate division if possible.
For the 18 and under and 14 and under divisions, all teams
will compete on Day One and Day Three. The majority
of teams in these divisions will not compete on Day Two.
A team's finish on Day Three will determine in which Division
the team competes in Mandatory One. In the 16 and
under division, 1st and 2nd place teams in the Gold Division
only will bypass Day 2 of Qualifying, all other
teams will compete all three days. In the
12 and under division, all teams will compete both days.
The Qualifying
format for the 16 and under girls will be revised to correct
inequities in the original version. The third and
fourth place teams from Division I, all teams from Division
II, and the first place teams from Division III will be
re-seeded in Group B and will play on day 2. The second,
third, and fourth place teams from Division III will be
re-seeded in Group C and will play on day 2. On day
3, Group A will play for Divisions I - IV. The first
place teams and top two second place teams from Group B
will be placed in the silver and will compete for Division
V- Division VIII. Second, third, and fourth place
teams from Group B will be competing for Divisions IX- XIII.
Group C teams from day 2 will compete for Divisions XIII+.

Points/Mandatory Tournaments
Points are given to each team participating in the Mandatory
tournaments. The number of points is derived from
a pre-determined sliding scale and is based on each team's
overall finish within the entire age division. A 30-point
bonus is given to teams that win 2 consecutive tournaments
and a 30-point deduction to teams that lose 2 tournaments
in a row. This point system was developed and is continuously
re-evaluated to reward teams for getting better and to best
ensure fair competition. To view the point scale,

Regional Championships
These 2-day, end-of-the-season, tournaments are for all
Divisions in all age groups. The top 32 or 48 teams based
on overall point totals will play in Division I and the
remaining teams will play in Division II. Double points
are given for Regionals
